Discussing the latest regional and international issues, Iranian and Iraqi foreign ministers exchanged views on Mina tragedy, Syrian crisis and regional turmoil.
Iranian diplomat presented Iraqi FM with latest reports on Mina tragedy and the process of following up the case in Mecca including the number of dead, lost, and injured Iranian pilgrims.
They also discussed the issue of Syrian crisis and the solution offered by Islamic Republic of Iran.
Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim Jafari, while extending condolences on the Mina tragedy, urged adopting necessary measures to prevent similar incidents in future.
Emphasizing on Iran’s significant role, Iraqi official asked for Iran’s more active participation in settling regional issues. He also invited Zarif to pay a visit to Baghdad, which was welcomed by Iranian FM.
